Roof Trim Molding

One of my roof trim moldings came off so I went to the car dealer and bought the “retainer” piece to put it back in. I thought it was as simple as attaching the retainer to the trim molding and put it back like a sticker. However, there’s nothing to peel off to attach it back to the roof. Hopefully, someone has gone through this and can share how’s it’s done. Do I need an epoxy/activating agent to glue it back in?

You need the 3M-type very high bonding foam tape. That type of tape is used to adhere bodyside molding. You should be able to pick up a some at a parts store.
