Made a Plasti Dip bug shield today.

Any one worry about when u pull the dip off ur paint wolnt be faded so then u have miss mached paint

They key is peel the masking tape off quick while it's still wet the get the clean strait lines with no jaggies. Or you can use 3 layers of tape and peel each layer away as you apply a coat.

I think what he meant was a few years from now when you peel off the dip will the paint below be a different color because it didnt fade from the sun.

lol I posted that part before his post went up. Never thought of that being a concern. I can always reapply more dip. Thought about doing the full or partial bra. Didn't have enough dip though.

I think I'll do under the hood where most cars start to rust first by the hood latch.

Not that I condone plasti-derp, but my first reaction was, it would look cool if you carried it out over the fender to the blinker.

Are bugs that big of a problem in Indiana?

Personally I would never spray anything on my paint for fear that it might ruin the paint underneath. I'm sorry but :thumbdown:

Its just plastidip it peels off like a film.

I did my whole roof with it. Its a amazing product.

They are good for keeping chips out of your hood from small rocks sand etc. It most definitely won't ruin paint. Like SubSonic said it peels off when you want it to. Look it up on YouTube professional shops use it.

DipYourCar.Com I've seen a few bimmers and GT-R's dipped in person, they look great and they will usually do it for track days/long drives to protect the paint
