And I will add that the Trifecta tune is well known in the Camaro community and seems to be in the Cobalt and the Solstice/Sky community.
If you use his product you will need to use premium fuel unless you request otherwise.
Vermont Tuners also has a product for the turbo Sonic but requires using the EFILive hand held where Trifecta Performance requires using a Windows laptop. You need a Windows laptop for Vermont Tuners if you are going to data log.
When we think of tuning a car we often think of dyno tuning. These two companies do not require using a dyno.
HPTuners indicates the are about to release a product for the turbo Sonic, and that may be true but based on my Camaro experience do NOT hold your breath.
If you go the tuning route, you will not be unhappy. If you go the route with some simple bolt ons (short ram intake and cat back exhaust) you will see a dramatic difference. (original OEM everything 116 to 124 at the wheel on the dyno; cat back exhaust 150 to 152 on the dyno; add an intake 166 on the dyno; combine all three with tuning 172 on the dyno). So for less than $1500, including paying a shop for the exhaust install, you can go from 116hp at the wheel to 172hp. On a 2700lb. vehicle.
In case you are wondering, there are dyno charts and/or links to dyno charts that show the numbers I have just stated.
But my question is: who in their right mind would spend $1500 just to get get a 50% increase in horsepower and the equivalent in torque (222 foot pounds when all is said and done) on a $17,000 car?
