And that's why I'm happy that Chevy gave us the option in the Sonic to turn them off. Just a quick turn to the left on the light dial and voila! Years ago I drove a Cavalier that had DRLs and the only way to get them to shut off while the car was running was to pull up on the parking brake. One click wasn't enough to engage the brakes, but it was enough to turn off the DRLs. I drove with the parking break pulled up one click for years.

You never realize how much it sucks until you go to a drive-thru Christmas light show.
With people that don't know about the parking brake trick it makes me want to kill them!

We have a big drive-thru display in my city every year. I know exactly what you're talking about! Those are the times I wished I could work at a place like that for one night so I could yell at the morons.
