Service bulletin on 2012-2014 auto transmissions

Just wondering if anyone else with this issue has had it repaired by the dealer? Apparently 2012-2014 6T40 transmissions have a bad clutch plate in them that needs to be replaced to fix a problem with the neutral idle feature.

I'm going to try to get it done under warranty but I suspect my dealer will give me a hard time, because of how much labor is required.

I know some early 2012's reportedly had trouble with clutch packs or spacers causing idle issues while in "D" at a stop. GM's fix was to disable the Neutral Idle feature if a customer complained of the symptoms.

If you don't experience the symptoms, the dealer probably won't do the repair.

Are you actually having the problem, or just want it done because it's free? If the car has the issue and you can verify it, they should fix it without an issue.

I do actually have the issue, but it only happens sometimes. Makes it hard to prove it to the dealer.

My 2014 Sonic RS experiences the bucking at a stop, too, but due to randomness, it won't duplicate for the technician.

I have a 2012 and noticed sometimes at a light it does an odd thump. But only sometimes.. its the least of my problems in life. I'd rather they fix the transmission fluid that is leaking from near the bottom flat part of the trans.

Right now I'm only throwing a maf and lean out code though so I'm thinking it's that
But it's the 1.8 so it should be the 6T30 auto correct?

Mine does that. didn't think much of it until I read this. Mine also is / lags going from park to reverse on the first start up of the day.

I called today and asked about mine. I have a 2012 and they said their was nothing. I had a recall on the "turbine shaft" that they replaced in 2013.

Mine does that. didn't think much of it until I read this. Mine also is / lags going from park to reverse on the first start up of the day.

my 2012 sonic also does that. rough idle and slow when shifting to reverse.
any solutions?

any idea if this is still being repaired? my mileage is past the warranty period.
