I'm putting this thread here because a search really didn't help in my situation. It's not really a MyLink problem anymore either. Or is it? We're all perplexed. Wondering if anyone has any insight?
About a month ago I noticed my front seat heaters were inoperable. I was due an oil change soon, so waited to address both issues at the same time (at the dealership). They changed the oil and determined I had a bad seat control module. Ordered same.
About two days later, while backing out of the driveway, I noticed the MyLink screen said to "service rear vision system". Had never observed this before. And there is no rear vision system. When I went back a week later for the power module, I mentioned this to them. They had the danged thing back there for three hours, had been on the phone with GM techs, but could not get rid of the message. They were trying, I think, to flash something, but could not get it to work. I predicted to the service manager they'd probably have to replace the radio. He looked suspicious. Sure enough....
They decided to replace the entire "radio". All I know is they replaced the MyLink screen assembly and whatever else goes with. Guess what? They still could not get the thing to "flash", or whatever, after wrestling with it for four hours. They gave up and said they were going to have to show it to a field technician I think they said? So I left with a new MyLink system but still get the error.
As far as I know, they did nothing to the car to bring this about. All they did was change the oil and determine the seat module was bad. Could just be coincidence it started on or about that day. And since they swapped out the radio, they can't figure out why it isn't fixed or what the technical issue is that requires a visit from a field tech.
Anyone else have this issue? They were sure, in their talks with Chevy today, I was the only person they'd ever heard of with this problem. I know there was a past issue with some sort of upgrade and the service warning coming on, but they say they never did any flashing prior to the message showing up.
