Shiny intake and Exhaust mods

I rearranged the Spectre parts on my intake again.

I like how far up it goes I just want to tweak it a bit more, and it's been raining all weekend.

Is it possible to rotate it down closer behind the head light? That's where the coldest air enters, especially if you yoink the French trumpet from the fender well.

yes it is lol. no point in using a small filter and leave all that empty space. gonna build a heat shield for it also when i get some time.

Is that exhaust tip welded on there? I'm not familiar that much with exhaust tips, etc. So i was wondering what does an exhaust tip do? Does it change the sound of the car? Or do you have to do something else to the whole exhaust to make it sound different? I'm looking for a low rumble, kinda like what you said. I love the sound of cars at a low growl, and then get louder when you open up the throttle. I like yours though. Where and how much was it?

the tip is just for looks, if you want sound you need to either delete sound deadening portions of the stock exhaust or a get a new exhaust system. check out my videos to see what it sounds like open after the second cat.

Sounds like a good time. I look forward to seeing what you do for a heat shield. I just finished driving 20 minutes home and was surprised to feel that my DDM intake tube was almost cold to the touch. It's also only 65 degrees today.

Ok thanks, but on that note, what does a resonator do? How bout Cat back? I hear about it all over this forum, but i was wondering if you could give me a short definition of them?

a resonator bounces the pules and sound waves against each other to quiet down the exhaust.

a cat back system replaces the exhaust from the catalytic converter back.

Oh yeah, i've seen loads of stuff on it, thats why i just wanted a quick definition on it. I was just curious in my own little manner of processing things.

A resonator is to address a certain exhaust note (that is offensive to some, not to others) commonly called resonance, droan, or thrum and also reduces overal exhaust noise just not as well as a muffler (smaller body vs larger body). It is used to basically used to "tune" your exhaust to your car. A muffler is to reduce noise and can also reduce the offending sounds above. A cat back is a full exhaust built to fit your car from the catalytic converter back.

Zippy, can you post a video of it? I have good contacts with a local muffler shop and would like to listen to this alternative over buying a full cat-back. I'm guessing you had to weld a pipe in to replace the muffler?
