2015 Chevy sonic 1.4l ltz turbo automatic
This is my first time posting. Sorry if it’s a long one but I just want to be specific about my issue. Also I am in Mexico and taking the car to a dealer or even getting it scanned by a profesional is out of the question really. Other than taking it to have it scanned at autozone.
i just bought this car about a month ago. When I got it, it seem to run fine but the owner told me that it spits out a little bit of coolant, so I need to check it every once in a while. So two days after I bought the car I got on the highway and I was kind of getting on the gas and I was in the car just turn off on me. I couldn’t figure it out. I thought maybe it had overheated because the tank was boiling over out through the little spout by the cap. I didn’t notice that the connector for the coil rail was broken and the little clip was gone so I pushed it back in and then the car started right up. I didn’t want to keep pushing it, so I turned around and went back home. Over the next couple days that little connector had popped out on me about four times each time I’m on the highway doing about 75 and the connector pops out and it’s like I just turned my car off. And the reservoir kept bubbling over again and again I had taken it to a mechanic which he said that it’s got to be the head gasket . Mind you the car has never overheated on me. I’ve never seen a light come on and the radiator has never been dry. Then suddenly I was driving on the highway and I had no power whatsoever. And it seems like the catalytic converter was clogged. I had that happen to me in a Ford ranger one time and knew what it felt like. So here in Mexico. We don’t have a need for catalytic converters, so I pulled my cats off and sure enough they were completely clogged so I got it both of the cats out. And that fix that problem. But now I have an issue where if I press the pedal anything over 1/3rd down the car starts to shudder badly I can’t really accelerate and there’s a sound kind of like what your power steering would make. If you were running it kind of dry and when I do press the pedal down, all of a sudden my check engine light starts flashing and my traction control light comes on and if I let off the gas for a minute, the check engine light starts flashing and the traction control turns off. The only code I get when I scan the car is a P0030. From the oxygen sensor because the cabinets are gutted I did get a misfire in cylinder one code before I go to the cats but since then it hasn’t popped back up. Also, every once in a while when I turn the car on in the morning it’s like it it dumps or jerks the motor on and then for some reason the door lock cycle like three or four times and I’ll go put it into gear and it’ll just be like a strong kick in the ass and if I press the Excelerator, nothing happens for just a split second and then he grabs and from then on, it’s perfectly fine. I don’t know if the two things are related or what I took my friends advice though and put a bottle of blue devil head gasket repair in it and the shutter and got a little bit better slightly. And I also drain the coolant and filled it up with dexon coolant and it’s no longer boiling over so that’s where I’m at with this if anybody can help me out please any help is greatly appreciated.
