So ever since this winter cold snap, the teens and single digit temps have made my gas milage suffer by 5 to 6 mpg. Who knew i would ever be upset ONLY getting 38 MPG haha. Im frusterated with this so i have an idea that I would like to run by you guys. I plan to make a front shutter to block most if not all of the lower air duct.
My thinking on this is simple, this will let the car warm up faster to get out of closed loop faster. Keep the car running a little bit warmer and IATs will rise due to lack of air flow to the front mount. The warmer conditions and air will be less dence and require less fuel to get a complete burn. I have some extra dry carbon fiber i can use and i would fab a way to mount it to the lower grill.
Everything makes sence on paper unless somone can think of somthing im overlooking. Construtive critisim is welcome.
