Well guys, I had the windows tinted! I think it looks great. Got the sides and back all done in 35%. Oh, and the front eyebrow as well.

Was going to do the tires next, but this weak stereo is already getting on my nerves lol - so i am thinking that'll be next months thing to "get done."

Looks great! Just had mine tinted today as well. I went with 15% ceramic all the way around, as well as a front windshield strip. I think these cars should come tinted from the factory.

Larry - I think you should open a "garage." I would like to see that! Actually I really want to see that lol.

So what's the deal anyway? Do cars normally come with tinted windows? I know my wife's minivan did - more so on the back sliding doors than anywhere. I think they do that expecting you to haul kids.

So one of our members here wrote this on a thread:

"My 1.4L Sonic was bad in crosswinds/buffeting on the highway, especially when passing/being passed by large vehicles (build date 03/2012) until I installed the discontinued (01/2012) air deflector/underbody cover (GM part no: 95016301, ..."

That member went on to say it worked really well to stop the problem... so being I have to go into the dealer this Thursday anyway, I decided to order it.

The part itself is under $100 and being the car will be there for some cosmetic work anyway (they scratched up the front of the car on delivery), I am hoping they'll put it on for free for my "inconvenience."

I hope it'll stiffen the car a bit more - no I haven't felt a need for it yet, but why not - it can't hurt.

I'll post after it's installed and let you all know if I get as much utility as the other member (sorry I cut and pasted the info into a word document filed under things I might want for the Sonic, and now I can't find the thread to credit the author).

DO NOT FORGET: cut out the section under the oil drain plug!
(You could always use a funnel during oil changes, or wipe it *clean* after an oil change but that's a PITA)

Remember, it was removed because oily buildup caused engine fires.
(Brake fluid spillage was also a problem, but just put a rag under the BMC when you fill the reservoir)

Yea, that's what the recall/removal was about.
A few Cruzes caught fire. (No oil tech likes to clean up.)

The shop I go to removes the whole thing every time I take it in and they need to work on the engine. It only takes 20 seconds to remove, I don't see how you could be that lazy.

Well the part should be in today or tomorrow, so I still can't speak to if it'll be worth it yet.

That said, as GM will probably be doing all the oil changes... I can only hope they will at least be aware of the issues and not be sloppy.

Of course I'll remind them .

I wouldn't say that Eric, you just underestimate the lengths people go to to be lazy.
I mean techs weren't even wiping the plastic shield with a rag and they hold it in their hands while they tighten the drainplug...
