Well I've been on this forum for quite a while and although I don't actually post much, I'm on here almost everyday reading and looking at what people have done to their sonics. I figure I'd start my own build to share with everyone as well. Now I went a little different route than most people. I'm doing all the show and visual things first. My reason being is that this is my daily driver so I wanted to get creature comforts done first. I also plan on keeping this car for quite some time so I will definitely focus and performance and handling at some point, but now its for me to enjoy (and let's be honest, the sonic is a great fun car the way it sits stock). First thing I did was a wrap from GM, it's called the Warp Wrap. I actually am a certified 3M 4 Star installer and had to opportunity to put this on my vehicle for training at an IMMENSE discount.
As you can see, I COMPLETELY debadged the rear and tinted the tail lights as well. Next thing I did was the Camaro ZL1 steering wheel swap and wrapped the plastic trim in red vinyl.
Then I wanted custom leather seats and seeing as I do upholstery for a living I went with a Katzkin Custom Interior. It is black with red carbon fiber inserts and red stitching.
Then I made a custom triple gauge pod and did an Alpine 7" touchscreen, nav, bluetooth, iPod reciever.
I also put all new PowerBass speakers in, 6.5" XXXX mids in the rear and 6.5" XXX coaxals in the front however I forgot to take pictures. I will however when I finish wiring the rest of my system which includes two 12" PowerBass subwoofers, a PowerBass 600.2 amp for the subs and a 600.4 amp for the speakers. I am doing all the work myself and also plan on doing a black suede headliner and dyeing dash and door pieces red. More pics will come as I slowly and steadily continue this project.
