Is it a requirement in PA? If so and there's a fault showing with the TPMS system, your car won't pass inspection. I may have my vehicle re-inspected in April or May, and here's why... studded snows have to be removed by some time in April here in NY. If I can get through winter with my dedicated winter tire and wheel combo without the sensors... bazinga. Otherwise I'll have the annoying TPMS requirement to contend with in December for the inspection.

Good point. My studs are on my factory rims with the tpms and I get my CSR inspected in march perfect

It isn't a requirement right now but I'm told it will become a requirement sometime in 2013; if your car came with TPMS from factory, then it must be in working order to pass inspection.

If I was swapping tires around I'd leave the TPMS on the stockers, because they can't complain if I roll in in those. But since I plan on using my all season replacements, well, in all seasons, I got them swapped over.

I have winter tires on my 1.4L turbo w/ automatic transmission. I got the best that my local tire shop offered. We just got about 4 inches of snow here in northwestern Ohio so I was pretty excited to finally get to use them.

My last car was an 07 Impreza, which of course has Subaru's symmetrical AWD system. I must say I feel more safe in my Sonic. I lose traction more often in my Sonic than I did in my Subaru, but when I do lose traction, I feel like my Sonic does a better job in regaining traction.
