So I have this squeaking that is occurring in cold weather. It's only getting worse as the temperatures are dropping here in MA. I always let the car warm up 4-5 minutes if the temperatures are below 40 degrees outside. Nevertheless, when I start driving (and the car isn't fully warmed up yet) I hear a squeak between 1-2 shifts and 2-3 shifts that sounds like it's coming from the rear of the car.
I also hear it when I back out of my very steep driveway. When I step on the clutch and brake in order to prevent myself from launching into the street I hear the squeak. It is NOT the brakes. It is the lateral change in momentum in between shifts and in my driveway that causes it. After the car is fully warmed up it disappears entirely.
I'd like to get this figured out before 25 degrees is "average" in the northeast.
Where should I start looking? I am almost convinced that it is the suspension which is why I'm posting it here. The car has some mods.

It sounds as if some grease would completely solve the issue, however, I am not totally sure where an application of grease will be effective.
