Steering wheel buttons responding incorrectly

Hello,

I have a 2018 sonic and the steering wheel buttons for the radio are responding incorrectly- when I skip songs it restarts the current song, when I press volume up it brings the volume down, and the physical buttons on the radio are not working when this problem occurs, only the touch screen and volume dial work.
Upon turning the car off and starting it again later it seemed to correct itself only for it to happen again.

Will changing the fuses correct this issue? Have any of you had this issue before?

Probably not a fuse, but may be something as unrelated as the main battery or loose connection to the radio behind the dash or at the fuse box.
Check maybe the fuse box(es) and make sure all are tight and no corrosion.
Also, check the battery voltage right after start. If it reads less than 11 volts the battery is likely weak.
A weak battery can cause many weird issues.
