Switching from winter rims to stock rims

Can I switch from my steel winter rims back to the stock rims myself, or is there a special tool needed since the stocks have the TPMS? Can I just swap them myself in my driveway with the supplied jack and tool that came with the car? If I can do it myself and not have go to spend the money I'd rather do it myself.

so you're asking if you can change your steelies (with winter tires no TPMS) to your stock rims (with stock tires TPMS)?

If so yeah you should, tools in the trunk should be the jack and 19 mm socket for the lugs. If the stock setup does not have TPMS you will just have the TPMS light that won't affect performance.

If they do have sensors then you might just have to relearn the sensors

If the winter wheel/tire assemblies had no TPMS sensors, you no doubt had the TPMS warning light on all the time. If you re- install your wheels with TPMS sensors that had been previously synched with the vehicle, they will probably act as they did when previously installed. If not, they must, or should I say, should be re-learned to the vehicle with the electronic TPMS relearn tool. There is a thread on this topic somewhere in this forum that explains this explicitly. I purchased a relearn tool for this task myself; works good, and allows me to do mine without assistance.

You will not have to relearn the sensors. They will be picked up again by the TPMS system after about half a block of driving and the warning light will go out.

Be sure to hand torque the wheel to 100 ft/lbs in a star pattern. Don't just blast them on with a gun.
