Was at 260º for all of about 1 minute. It was probably the 24psi boost over the course of 25k miles. I've got about 33k on this motor. So going back to 17k is kind of refreshing. Hahaha.

Now I'll have 2 non-op 1.4's in my garage. Maybe once I'm free of my loan I'll finally build one up. I'll definitely look into head gasket/bolt options if I do.

Could just have a boat load of air in the system still. I know the 1.4s are a pain to bleed the air out of the cooling system which is why GM issued the recall last week for the coolent level

Nah. When steam is coming out of your tailpipe on a sunny afternoon, and your coolant reeks of gasoline, you've got a compression breach.

Preloader, do you have any info or pics when you swapped out the clutch/ pressure plate/flywheel? I'm looking at a new Spec setup and would appreciate your expertise.
