Leaking coolant 2 mechanics diagnosed thermostat housing after second trip to dealer Nalley they agreed and said not covered by powertrain warranty despite it reading so to me mechanic said they put labor code in and the warranty if applicable will come up less than 50000 miles and 5 years old tired of fighting they want 780 for labor and 300 for parts 2014 Sonic ?

I noticed from your other posts that you have a 2014, When did you buy it?
It would be nearing the 5 years at this point.

It is covered under powertrain warranty as long as it is still active.
I also noticed that your other two posts have been complaints about your dealer....

It might be a good idea to find another dealer, contact chevrolet corporate customer service, or find a good independent mechanic.

Difficult to follow what OP is saying. . .

We had a 2014 Sonic LT with 73,000 miles on it. They replaced the thermostat housing for no charge under warranty. We called our dealer and they said no problem, bring it in. The car was 4 years and 9 months after we took delivery.
Talk to a different dealer.

Otherwise, buy one off Ebay for $40 to $80 and do it yourself or have a shop install it. Shouldn't cost more than $100 to $150. It's, maybe a 1.5 hour job of less.

I’m also dealing with a coolant leak. They’re difficult to diagnose. I ended up paying to have my thermostat and thermostat housing replaced (around 84,000 miles). Hoses were also replaced, however it did not fix the leak.

Someone encouraged me to look into replacing the water pump.
