So I’ve got myself in a fun little predicament. I decided to go cheap with the t-stat housing. The coolant flange for the throttle body hose ended up being too large and it would leak. So I went and got one from Autozone, double the price, but now my issue is that the plug for the heater coil in the t stat was made backwards… so it plugs in but not the same way the factory one does or any of the other gm t-stats I’ve found online. I’m trying to figure out if I can test polarity of the coil with no power or if it even matters. I still have the other t stat I can use. Does anyone have a schematic for the wiring? Or know the answer to my question? I don’t want to pull it out if I don’t have to, but don’t want to damage any electrical components. P0599 was my original code that I’m trying to solve, don’t have a check engine light but seems the car is storing the codes somewhere my reader can’t erase. The new t-stat is reading 14.7 ohms
