timer in the Dic area

when you go thru the secquence of different selections and you come to the timer what the heck is this for? did not see a microwave oven anywhere inside the car. someone smarter then me must know what this is.

I assumed it was to time a trip or how long your car ran between filling up.

Timer for whatever you might need to time, be it a lap around a track, time it takes to get from point a to point b, etc.

Or if you prefer to sit in your car while your popcorn pops instead of staring at your microwave.

I had a hell of a time trying to figure out why that clock wouldn't keep proper time.
