Tinted and detailed...plus Sonic gets a new garage mate

We finally had the car tinted this weekend (an absolute must in FL). Also took the time to wash, clay bar, and wax the car. Just took these today after the second coat on the front bumper, hood, and arse.

This was towed in Friday. The next project...

What % tint is that? Also, do they typically not really enforce the tint law there where you are in Florida?

Looks nice. I've always said sufficiently dark tint adds a great contrast to cars especially the white ones.

Its alot less strict down here. Unless your doing something else wrong or its drasctically dark, they dont say anything. Its usually state troopers that get u though.

what make and model are your roof racks?

Roof bars are the VW accessory bars. The carriers are Thule Velovice Pro. They were the fork mount carriers also sold through the VW accessory catalog. I don't think Thule has made those carriers in at least five years though.

Can't say for sure but it is a little darker than legal. The Rabbit and Sonic both have the same tint, but both have HUGE windshields that let in a ton of light so it doesn't appear quite as dark out in the sun. The police are starting to crack down on tint in Tampa. Knock on wood...the Rabbit has had this tint for five years an no issues. I think they key is having a lower profile car that doesn't draw attention.
