Now get white rims with Red Calipers. This is exactly what I wanted to do with mine but ended up not getting blue..

I'm going all black on the rims maybe red accent and red calipers. the white would match the "Theme" but i love the look of matte black rims

Hmm...that's not really how I want mine to look. Yours look like a matte finish. I guess going darker with several coats is the only way to get that wet glossy look. Oh well.

i misted the spray very lightly to get that satin/matte finish on purpose. if you spray it like a regular paint it will be darker and glossy.

Right, but I want lighter (like yours) and glossy. I have tinted tail light envy...every day I see Chevy cars and SUVs on the road that appear to have factory tinted lenses (about as light as yours) that definitely haven't been spayed. THAT is what I want. I hope either Chevy makes those available for the Sonic or some aftermarket company does.

i bought a cheap suction mount that has a flexible rod, the suction mount is in the right hand side cubby by the stereo.

How high does this mount get, I'm trying to find a mount i can put in the left cubby hole and mount my phone in portrait so camera can be pointed on the road (gonna run a camera app in case I need to prove my innocence)

With the head light trim I want to do that but cant figger out how to get them off. Or did u mask the light and paint ?

i pulled them off, there are four or five clips on each one that will break very easily. be very careful and take your time, start with a couple flat head's wrap some tape around the heads and get to prying them off. they're screwed in on the bottom so you will have to break them off on the bottom but as long as you dont break all of the clips they will go back on no problem.

hey ThatTmoGuy, Love your car. its looking really good! That blue is outstanding on these sonics. If i ever get a chance to get a 2nd Sonic it will be in Blue for sure. The only thing i dont like about your build is the red Headlight Rings. I just dont like red. But thats my opinion and everyones different. just saying i liked it better without the red accents. Maybe do them in Gold or Blue to make it look better. but its your car so do whatever. Just throwing it out there. Keep up the good work. That intake looks nice. Sounds nice too in the video. I tinted my Tail lights and the Turn Signal Part of the headlight unit yesterday. Check out my build thread to see pictures. link in my signature.

I've been thinking about blacking out the rings, i just dont want them to wash out with all the black. they do pop with the red but red isnt really my color either. i was planning on do my turn signals too, did you pull the assembly or just mask off the areas around it?

sorry for the late response, it gets pretty high. all of my videos are shot with that mount and i could get a better view if i took the time to adjust it before i shoot. i just really hate moving it around often because its not easy to get it back where i wanted it for my daily use.

I've been thinking about blacking out the rings, i just dont want them to wash out with all the black. they do pop with the red but red isnt really my color either. i was planning on do my turn signals too, did you pull the assembly or just mask off the areas around it?

I probably should have but i didnt remove them when i did mine. I simply masked off a good 5 inches around the turn signal area then took some old shirts and taped then around the rest of the areas to keep them from getting hit with the overspray. Then laid down some adhesive promoter (Couple coats) then put down some light layers (2 or 3 i think) of VHT Night Shades. I like how they turned out. It tones down the brightness of them but yet still allows them to work as intended. and they dont get you pulled over as i found out last night when i had a cop up my ass the minute i pulled out of my apartment complex and followed me into town and never pulled me over. So it must have been satisfactory to them lol.

I've been thinking about doing the note card trick and masking, I still about a half can of rustoleum spray tint, maybe I'll knock it out this weekend if I find the time.
