Toledo police Sonic patrol cars - with pictures

Not Toledo, OH... Toledo, Spain!

My wife and I were vacationing in Spain last month and saw that the Toledo Policia have Sonic cop cars. OK, actually Aveo cop cars as that is what the Sonic is called in Europe.

The first time we saw them we were walking around, but didn't get a picture. The second time we were driving, but it was dusk so the pictures didn't turn out the best. This is the only two photos I got...

Haha oh im so scared! i bet my sonic can beat theirs! in my town NAPA auto parts and advanced auto parts use sonics for their stores, idk if they do that else where, but here they all drive bone stock white hatches.

The engines in USA seem to always be more powerful than in Europe on small cars. I think they had 1.2 or 1.3 liter non-turbo. We tried to rent one, but they didn't have any at the rental place. Got Hyundai i30 instead, which is similar to Elanta GT in USA, except 1.2l gutless engine and no armrest on console (which I really find more comfortable since I'm fat). I stalled this car in first gear going up a steep hill slowly. Engine gas no torque. Had to coast back down, Rev it and gun it up the narrow hill inside the city walls of Toledo.

Advance store in Newton, NJ (where I live) also uses white Sonic hatchbacks. Looks like Advance has made a good corporate decision.

Yeah, I don't see that as a high speed pursuit vehicle!

Most European streets really aren't built for high speed pursuits anyways. I lived in France for about a year and never heard of a high speed chase. Even if a chase happened, the cops would be able to keep up as most European cars lack power.

we drove through places in several cities with an inch or two on both sides from hitting mirrors on the city walls, tunnels and arches. There are a lot of people with scooters. Parking is also a major problem.
