Trailer Hitch

It's a draw-tite from etrailer (just make sure you get the right one, 4dr or 5dr). It wasn't available at the time, but I'd get the Curt hitch if I was buying today. It's a bit heavier (7lb according to etrailer info) and the draw-tite does flex some. We've had good luck with Curt hitch on my wife's Vibe.
As far as the bike rack, it's a 1upUSA (link below). I've owned (and thrown away) more bike racks than I care to think about and this one's a keeper. Once you get past the original purchase price
it's a really sturdy and easy-to-use piece of work. Made here in Wisconsin too, which I like. You can buy trays to carry up to 3 bikes...I think 2 downhill bikes would be easy. Works, for any tire size or width (even fatbike tires) and is really fast to load/unload. The 1up is highly recommended.For 2 bikes, you need one of these:

This is also a very nice rack. My buddy has one and it is much better built than my Swagman.

Can anyone suggest how to run the 12 ga wire to the battery for the lights? I've read that you can go under the car or run it through the interior. Going through the interior sounds like a big pain in the ass, but it also sounds like the wire would be better protected from corrosion.
I have a 4x8 trailer that I used to pull with my 2002 Honda Civic (I had it professionally installed but this time I want to save money). I hauled all kinds of things with it and it never started to sway on me. Not once. I've hauled cinder blocks, logs, riding lawn mowers, motorcycles, big screen TV's, etc. on the interstate. I'll get a hell of alot better gas than any pickup truck out there too. Don't drive like an idiot and you won't find yourself getting into stupid situations.

On all the remote power installs I've done, the wire is routed beneath the vehicle. I try and stick close to the frame rails and avoid moving parts and excessive heat sources like the exhaust.

What i did is switched to LED tail lights. Installed a diode on the turn/tail light (which on the sonic uses the same filiment) and a diode on the brake light then ran it to the turn signal on the trailer did this on both side. no need to hook up the brown tail light wire since as stated the sonic uses a lower voltage for the tailights on the turn signal. ground plus 2 wires and done.
