Trans? (6spd man)

1, 2 are fine. 3, 4 nothing. 5, 6 are fine. (Car off) clutch engaged or disengaged. When on same issue, its like there aren't even getting to the engagement point. When you get high into rpm 4th engages with a grind, disengags with a chirp and 3rd is just not there. Drove the car for 3 hours back from a trip, no issues at all. Went to go to the store an hour later and this. Nobody else drove it in the hour gap.

Could look into fluid. Fluid level can affect transmission ability. Every now and then someone might have a transmission issue solved by something like Seafoam Trans Tune (I heard one shop had a car that was fixed by it) but I would say that's an exception and its unlikely.

But, otherwise, I'd say its likely an internal issue from wear. There's a good amount of variety of internal parts that cause failure to operate properly.

Even the transmission filter once its fully covered by metal shavings, eventually more shavings in there will increase destruction of parts.

And more. All kinds of parts in there can result in gear issues.
