Trunk release not working

From some winter battle damage the rear hatch release buttons don't work

It's there any secondary release from the inside I can use to get it open and fixed? The button on the outside won't work and I need to be able to get into the guts of the hatch itself to fix it

Currently fixed after finding a few things out and just doing a 20 minute battery disconnect and worked
Hopefully doesn't come back

after I found a couple other threads and fixed it for now at least

yeah, it's an odd thing, put an electric trunk release... What's wrong with a good old mechanical system?

Space savings and as long as there's no electric gremlins it's going to last longer and work slightly better with no potential of cable stretching or breaking

Also remote unlocking

There is a mechanical backup but you need something square and an oddball size, I was able to force it to work with a large flat screwdriver. It is accessed by pulling out the small round plug that is in the middle of the panel near the bottom.
Mine intermittently worked and then finally quit and I replaced it.

Yea we found that out but I didn't have anything in the car for that and I was more worried about getting it to actually work

My tailgate release just stopped working, it still clicks a bit but doesn't release. Was others' totally dead or it still clicked a bit?

Checked and replaced the 10amp lift gate fuse but it wasn't blown and didn't change anything.

The manual override is from inside the car right?
