TTR Solid Motor Mount Installed!!

I just got Turbo Tech Racing's newly developed Sonic upper solid motor mount installed on my car yesterday! Very nice part quality is great and it fit perfectly. Its a simple install (15 minutes) and WOW what a huge difference. The car just feels more connected to you. Before on a WOT 1-2 shift my car felt violent like it was going to break (a loud thud). Now though with the mount installed my car feels solid when I hit second there is no harsh feeling just smooth tire spin. :banana: Now just so you all know there is (as expected) quite a bit more vibration than stock but for me its worth it for the nice solid feeling being more connected to the car. Also vibration is said to decrease as the mount "breaks in" persay. NO I do not work for TTR just tested and reviewed this new product and YES I would buy it twice. Overall its a very easy mod to do, not expensive, and has great advantages. I have a stock air box and it fits perfect with it as well.

Here is a list of highlights:

Reduced engine movement, allowing less drivetrain slop. This allows for firmer shifts, less/no wheel hop, increase throttle response. Becuase your engine is not flopping around, that extra movement allows a quicker transfer of power to the wheels. Plus this mount is much stronger, and looks 10X better than the stock one.

Along with the stock mount is rubber, which "rots" over time, poly does not rot and is much more stable for long term durability.

Engine mounts have always been a very popular mod, on all car applications. We have been the leader in Engine mounts for the "GM Sport Compacts." As we make them for the Chevrolet Cavalier/Pontiac Sunfire, Cobalt, Ion, Alero, Malibu, Grand Am, Cruze, and now the Sonic.

They are not "solid" as they are poly, so there is still some movement (just not much compared to stock)

Dirk will answer the best, as he did above stating there is some (as there is always with upgraded mounts.) However after a 1,000 miles or so they really go down, yet all the pros still are there. We use this same bushing on the Cobalt Mounts, it is very popular mount, shipping daily.

Correct, however if any member is into "performance" and gets and intake, tune, and or exhaust, you most likely would want/need this product.

I had engine solid mounts and solid tranny mount on my Mazda and it vibrated a good bit but I loved it. Family didn't mind it a bit.
I wish it was a solid mount bit this is still a good upgrade. I am going to look into this mod.

This is as "solid" as you would ever want it, as Dirk...

I am sure you Mazda mount was not "solid" buy made with Poly, like this one.

Issue is if you were true solid (metal on metal) you would most likely get false engine knock and loose power. There is a fine line you must follow.

i ride a softail harley with a solid mount motor. vibration doesn't bother me, in fact my girl loves the way the harley vibrates up around 3700 rpm. she rides on the fender cause she doesn't want to pad the feelings stirred.



i'll be ordering one of these soon. gotta get the bike back together and then my time and money will be free'd back up.

Yes theres more vibration so idk if I would put this on a BONE STOCK car BUT like TTR said exactly with a tune, exhaust, intake etc this mount is what I would call a must have for more solid performance, as to me the shock or "hop" when shifting with a stock mount is just way to violent and feels like breakage awaiting.
