Two questions

Hello, I have a sonic 2013 LT and I am also a new driver. I don't drive a lot either. I have two questions.

1>I am not sure if this is normal. When I stay in the left turn lane and waiting for the coming traffic clear to turn left, this happens. I don't know if this is my own feeling or it is normal. I feel my car is kind of shaking, when a large vehicles (trucks, pick up trucks) passes by closely. This makes me nervous. I know Sonic is small car and it is light? Or there is something wrong with my car.

2>I don't drive at night a lot, but I have do it recently for some reasons. Some of neighborhoods do not have road lights. Should I normally use high beam or low beam? Now, I'm just use the car default settings. It is automatically light and I think it is low. Should I switch to high beam? I am worried to make the other drivers dizzy. I remember my driving school coach said always trying to use low beam .

1. I think anytime a large truck goes by the car may shake a little. I think if it was rigid you may not like the suspension on bumpy roads.

2. Yeah low beams if you can..if no other drivers coming the other way..high beams. Always be ready to turn the high beams off when you see an oncoming car.

1) Normal for most cars and the Sonic is on the lighter side of it's class. Large vehicles can cause a lot of air turbulence around them at speed, causing the shake you feel.

2) I agree with RMinNJ. Low beams should be enough for most low-speed residential driving. Use highbeams if you feel otherwise.
