I wouldn't think so...
I have never had battery problems, even on colder days.

Sections underneath had substantial ice buildup. Road spray that froze.
I did hit some pretty big puddles.

You know I have also had issues while hitting large puddles or very heavy rain. I have my undertray thing but at the time I was missing the front wheel well splash guards. Anyway during the rain or after driving through i large puddle the car would start to hesitate when accelerating and then sometimes not accelerate at all, twice it shut off and I had to wait a few minutes to start it again. After the rain stopped or I had it off for a few hours it was back to normal. Not CEL either.

Not sure, if there is none I’ll order it.

Maybe I’ll stop by a Buick dealer and ask them....
I don’t have high hopes for that though.

You will be wasting your time. I added the front under body plastic which on the 2012 Sonic I think was standard? I think my 2013 LTZ 1.4T was the first year it wasn't included. The argument against them was quickie lubes were spilling oil which collected on the plastic panel and ultimately caught fire from engine exhaust heat. As I do my own work i wasn't worried about that. I paid $100 from the dealer. It made zero difference to fuel economy. In fact, my fuel economy if anything went up .1 of a mpg when I recently took it back off. I also sense no difference in handling one way or the other. Its a tall, flat sided 2800lb car. Under body fairing or not, you're going to get blown around laterally.

I am mainly looking for whatever splash protection it offers.

I have a 1.8 so apparently I wouldnt even have to remove it for an oil change.

Protection from what? I drive RallyCross (and Colorado weather conditions) with no under body panels without any issues.. A quick hit with the power washer every so often takes care of any dust and dirt

Just trying to keep as much salt and dirt out of the engine bay as I can.

I just washed the engine bay before winter and it already looks nasty.
I also dont want to be doing that every 6 months.

Washing the engine bay with any large amount of water (not to mention pressure) just sounds like one of those "no good can come of this" situations.

Um, washing my motor is a once a month thing. Best time to look for visible leaks or issues is the next day... I think I'd die inside waiting 6 months

That's every car, since I was 16 (25 years of vehicle ownership)... You don't use high pressure on electrical connections, and leaving the engine running while doing it a good idea.

I've put all 70k on this car, power wash the engine bay at least once a month. Since December 2014. Not an issue.

Right, because a sealed motor designed to run in most all weather and environmental situations would be susceptible to issues from water splashing... Makes sense to me!
