Upgrade to RS vs. Upgrade Current Sonic

all i want from the rs is... NOTHING. i love my sedan and i don'e need to take the hit on trading it in for a hatch. i do however look forward to seeing you guys build the rs up and see what can be done with it.

Bogus. If you really want the turbo and your already on the fence about the RS. Then it may be a worth it trading up, as long as its financially doable..

Personally I'm sticking with my 1.4 6mt as I don't see the RS as having anything more performance oriented than what I have.. I never saw much point in shorter gears but I did notice limitations (mpg) and while I dont. Like drum brakes I feel they're adequate in the back.. aside from that I see the RS as heavier and ladden with features my utilitarian mind doesn't need.

Again that's just me and you will have to weigh your wants and needs and sometimes its worth to take alil hit in the pocketbook for a car ur happier with.. if you really like your ls then swapping out some components for RS stuff would probably be a better choice.

Honestly I like everything else about the sedan except for those ugly hideous tails. I saw those and without a split second of thought picked the HB.

Not yet they're working on a price for me. But I'm getting Summit White.

It's "longer". HB has more storage space with the seats down. Now if you happened to have 4 passengers + cargo then the sedan would be the better choice. I personally don't carry passengers too often.

Trade in's on Sonics seem to be about $3000 less than new from what I have seen if the mileage is fairly low. An LT manual would be around $13000 with less than 12K miles. I assume that an LS would be 1K or more less than that. That is going on numbers given to me from a friend who works at a dealer.

You'd be better off to give it 2 yrs or so.

Rule of thumb is two years and low miles for the optimum.

That rule applies to everyone but Laborsmith and those who buy using the GM employee plan. The GM employee plan usually requires you to hold title for at least one year but on the Corvette (and perhaps others) two years. The penalty for violating that rule is severe.

So I am ordering my RS tomorrow or Friday depending on when my GSM is in, I also looked into the Kenwood stereo upgrade it's 1100$ for just an amp and a sub 200 watts each. Not worth it at all. Will be going with the MyLink and getting an aftermarket sub when it arrives! Can't wait!!!
