USB replacement

I've been toying with the idea of replacing the (cigarette lighter looking) power "Thing" with usb. Even more so when I read a write up on how to do it. Last week my power port start to come luse and I ordered a USB replacement, which I put in over the weekend.

Did you have to take out the center console? How did you get the plastic nut into the underside of the center console?
My cigarette lighter is dead, I just ordered a replacement. Easy to install just push down and it snaps in. But I'd rather have USB power though...

It's fairly easy. The cigarette lighter / power supply pops off with a small ish screwdriver. If you look at the cup holders in between the front seat, there's a false bottom on the front one, and with that out you have more room to cut and splice. I didn't need the ring, it sits very snug. Hopefully that helps.

Super simple to get the center console completely out. Remove the transmission trim. Then remove the cubby. all are clip sealed in.
then two bolts on the front and two bolts on the back toward the floor.
