On the bright side, no chance some jerk runs a red light and hits it just now, where it's parked deep in a garage waiting parts.

Sorry for the accident. Im confused
There was no way I could slow down and prepare to stop. I was doing the speed limit and it turned yellow right in front of me, There's no way without ending up in the middle of the intersection that I could of stopped. So I sped up to get through, there's a red light camera there as well.

Dont think I will I made it through just in time. I just hope I dont get the blame for this, They can see by my bent up fender that he hit me from the side. if I didn't slam the brakes on i'd probably dealing with the whole side of my car bent up.

You slammed on brakes. Are there skidmarks? If so from you? Do the camera monitor speed and red light if so they can determine how fast you were going. Ch3ck to see if he was on his phone during the turn. You'll be surprised. Use the failure to pay full time attention. And failure to avoid a collision. Ill take 10% lol. Nope it drives fine. We didnt hit that hard because I slammed the brakes on soon enough to slow it down a lot but still with the weight of his car hitting mine I got the damage that I did, Otherwise if I didnt slow down at all i would have my whole passenger side destroyed.

I was always under the impression that the two insurance companies get together and discuss what happened and determine whos at fault and then one of the insurance companies pays. I have state farm and they said no matter what I have to pay 500 dollars then after everything is fixed they will go to the other insurance company and get them to reimburse me..

Only experience I have with this is when our previous Sonic was totaled while parked. We called our insurance and they handled the entire thing. It was their responsibility to go after the other guys insurance, although our insurance guy originally tried to have us do it.

Yeah I thought the same thing but my insurance told me that I have to pay no matter whos fault and if I wanted to go to the other guys insurance company and handle it myself then I could do it. In other words it sounds like i'm doing all their work for them. WTF do I pay them for then gees.

I currently have Allstate (may change soon), and if I'm not at fault they always wave the deductable. Laws vary from state to state, I'm in Michigan.

I'd wait a few days. Generally the other insurance company will call you to see what happened or you can call them instead of waiting. If there was no citation issued then you might have a hard time getting them to pay. I had an accident once where no citation was issued and I had to pay my deductible. After the case went to arbitration (the 2 insurance companies talking to each other) I received a check for 80% of my deductible in the mail. Good luck and I'm glad you weren't hurt!
