Car looks good, just have one thought, I have heard that you are not suppose to wax fresh paint due to the fact that the paint has to adhere and bond with the car, especially with this new water based paint. Maybe someone can chime in on this?
That's an urban legend. The wax doesn't even touch the paint. Remember the layers are as such: metal, primer, paint, clearcoat, wax.
What you've heard is incorrect, but wax can get foggy on new paint because some auto paint takes a week or 2 to cure fully. The chemicals that the paint is still releasing can get trapped under the wax and fog it a little.
Easy fix. Either buff the wax again, or clean it off and wax it again. Wax simply fills in the micro scratches in the clearcoat, making it look like glass.
This usually only applies to newly painted custom cars. Production cars are painted with super durable auto paint that is cured by baking in an oven. I doubt the paint isn't fully cured by the time you get it. Mabey if it litterally came straight from the factory.
