washer fluid nozzles

sorry if it's in the wrong place, figured this would be the best place

any way, i'm seriously annoyed at the STREAM of washer fluid hitting 3-4 spots on my windshield. every other car i've owned other than a 93 mustang has had squirters that spread the washer fluid across the windshield.

are there any 'fixes' to this or will i need new washer nozzles???

i've heard or cutting the holes with a razor blade to make them oblong or flat...but idk. i'll have to experiment and get back to yall. lemme work on this for a minute

I am annoyed too however for a slightly different reason the farthest one on the passanger side doesnt even hit the car hahaand the innermost one on the driverside hits the hood not the windshield.. I too would like it to spread evenly if there is a way to make it work

well you can stick a tiny needle like thing in there and move the nozzles around. but, i want a completely different nozzle spray type. not stream, but spray.

but to adjust your nozzles, like i said get a piece of stainless wire or a really small punch, pick or something like that, stick it as far in the hole as it will go and gently move the object u stuck in there to the point on the windshield you want it to hit.

the cutting slices in the nozzle didnt work btw...it's like they're metal or chrome plated or something...my razor wouldnt slice it.

you can adjust where they shoot. but usually not how they shoot. try and find a car at the junk yard that you know has the correct spray pattern and swap them out. not too many differences in washer squirters

I too would like more of a spray pattern from the nozzles rather than a stream. Maybe it's just me, but a spray would be more efficient and by wetting a larger portion of the windshield you'd have less wear on your wiper blades from dirt and a reduced likelihood of scratching your windshield. Just my $.02.

Someone swapped them out recently for the ones in the cruze. It's a fan instead of streams

reviving a very dead thread, but I drove a 2019 Cruze and they are way better. As the last poster said, it sprays in a fan as they should. Same with the rear. My rear just drizzles down the window.

I say this is part of the Sonics cost cuttings.
