Weird grinding-ish noise on cold start up

I noticed sometimes when i cold start my car theres this weird grinding kind of noise when it turns over. It doesnt happen every time.

I dont really know how else to describe it since ive never heard anything like it before.

Anybody else experience a weird noise when cold starting?

I feel like I've heard mine make this noise before and if I had to equate it to another noise I think of a snipit of a diesel doing a cold start. Mines only done it 4 or so times in the past couple years and I just hit 178,000 miles. I just kind let it go out of my mind...
