So trim on the windows peeled? Due to rolling window up and down, prep missing, arm out the window? Its something ive wanted to do just havent sat down and done. Dont wanna waste time/money if its not plausible

No when I pulled off the tape a couple of spots peeled up. I like that it's removable and u can just clean/spray but sucks that when u remove the tape about 1/4 it peels up and u have to redo it.

Thanks for the info, I'll try this tomorrow because I plan doing some more. Has anyone done the sonic symbol? Not sure how that will work out yet.
Today I did the passenger side window strip and the rear chevy emblem.
I also started taping the front grill but it started raining so no paint on it.

I am planning on doing mine monday. (Next day off) if u beat me to it, early tips would help! Altho theres tons of edges so i think it should be fairly easy

I actually use plasti dip quite a bit, and can confirm if applied properly it will peel just like normal plasti dip. rdss you may be thinking about when you apply clear coat over plasti dip because than it will flake and not peel right when you try to remove it. The actually glossifier made from plasti dip will peel right off.
The plasti dip glossifier does work to add some gloss if applied properly. It will never be as glossy as paint but it will get a little shine with light reflecting off of it. You have to lay it down supper thick and slow to make it work (right on the very verge of causing a run). If laid down right it will almost look liquid sitting on the dip. Its a totally different spray pattern than how you spray with the normal colored dip. If yo lay it on too thin or like normal dip you wont be able to notice a difference.
What natesriv is right. You can check my build thread about how I did the strips on my hood, same method applies.

I tried to do that today but I was rushing to much ended up hitting a section of the chrome with the tape. Had to respray that area. Turned out nice. If I ever do this again I'm using real paint.

VERY long weekend spent with my sonic. Olive green was almost a year old and wanted a change. Peeled the bumper, hood and fenders due to slight lifting and small chips. This is a mix of true metallic aluminum and anthracite 50/50.
Also ripped my retrofit apart and took out the original red halo demon eye and swapped it out with a much better pair of SMD LEDs. I also bought a dynamic mode controller to give and adjustable pulsing effect to the demon eye by remote. I do not have them wired up yet unfortunately, too many things to get done and not enough weekend.
Waiting on my 20mm spacers hopefully arrive this week.

Did a do - over on my tail light rings. Added clear lacquer gloss this time to stop the fading. Also put some pinstripes on the blinkers. Not sure that I like the red pinstripes. May change it later.

When you do the bowtie dont tape off directly next to the bowtie. Instead create a box around it, so your spray area is about 3 inches bigger than the bowtie its self. (i know top and bottom isnt much room just tape above and below the the bumper to give your self as much room as possible.) Once you remove the tape start to peel up the dip a little on the edges and gently pull at a steep angle from the bow tie and the dip will literally cut its self around it making a nice clean edge. Its super easy to do once you see it done, just hard to explain. You only want to see tape for your lines if there is nothing for the dip to cut itself on. For example the lines on my hood or on other body panels. This is one of the main advantages of dip over paint is you dont have to be exact on your taping. Watch this video hopefully it will help.

I did that twice now on the front and i cant for the life of me keep the paint from peeling off the chrome ring surrounding the bowtie. So now i have a blacked out bowtie with the ring.

Interesting, did you try from different angles or made sure it wassnt too wet/dry?
