What would your dream sonic be like?

I'd like the engine to be even smaller, still turbo, flexfuel, and substantially lighter. Maybe like the old Chevy Sprint, with the three cylinder aluminum engine... IIRC that thing got 55MPG, and it was pretty zippy as long as you didn't try to put more than a couple adults in it.
I'd also like to see a Sonic with a powertrain similar to the Volt, but with a price point similar to the... well, Sonic.
Either way, the Sonic of my dreams would be substantially lighter, while developing its current power on much less fuel.
I'd also like to see the seating do a better job at getting out of the way, something along the lines of the Fit.
Oh, and it would fly. I mean, it's 2012 already, I was promised flying cars by now, by both the Jetsons and Doc Brown.

Don't get me started on the turbo sprint, its one of my all time favorites.
An electric powertrain could be in the future, if I recall correctly an electric version of the spark is in development, it was supposed to be 115 hp if I remember right which could make it pretty quick if its not stupid heavy

I don't want a pure electric though, I want something like the Volt, a plug in hybrid which will do normal short hop runabout duty on pure electric but which has the "just fill it up every few hundred miles" long range utility of an ICE.
The Volt seems (without, admittedly, ever having driven one) like a great solution, but its powertrain is only available in a $40,000 car which obliterates any possible economical benefit to driving it.
If the Sonic had been available rigged like that, at around $20,000, and I'd gladly have paid the difference between that and the $17K I did get.

I think I would be awesome with an optional power train like the volt and an SS version with at least 200whp. More is always better though so if they stuffed a 4.3 in it I wouldn't complain. Both of those would satisfy a lot of buyers from economy to green to those of us who just wanna drive the **** outta it. But still no wings...damn liars they promised me.

The absolute perfect sonic for me would be one sitting in my driveway. I don't have one yet.

I'm so glad this thread got started, I was thinking about this last night. Realistically i think it would be nice if all models had side blinkers in the front quarter panels like the cruze, or in the mirrors like VW style.
Also it would be nice if LT and up had at least 4 way power seats.
And I'd love to see an SS version with AWD to compete with Dart srt4 and even STI's and Evo's

I've driven a few volts and always come back satisfied, they run surprisingly well and are just cool overall

If the sonic was hybrid I wouldn't buy one. The volt is the closest thing I've seen to a hybrid design I like (only on the hybrid system part, I despise all the amenities)
But that's just me, I buy new and run em to the grouns several hundred Ks later, if a hybrid last me that long it will be in poor state and more than likely cost me a lot more money to maintain.
An all electric I might buy. And 200hp I would definetly buy

I think its AMAZING how much you get in a Sonic for what you pay. I mean come on the price of an LT even with connectivity is really cheap compared to many other cars out there and you even get heated mirrors. I wasn't sure if our previous 2LT had heated mirrors until the night it was totaled infront of our house and I picked one of the mirrors up off the ground and saw the heater and its connections.
As Eric said, many "dream Sonics" mentioned here would certainly increase the bill.

I'd pay 30 for an EVO killing awd sonic with at least 270 hp. I was going to order a verano turbo until I fell completely in love with the sonic, it starts at 30 and isn't that exciting.

good question. well I've always been a V6 guy
first car was an older infiniti
then got a 07 Monte Carlo and it was totaled, so with that cash I got a Sonic
I'm still in college expecting to graduate in about a year so this 4 cylinder is a big change for me. so far I love it though, but once I graduate if all goes well my next car would most likely be a V6
I am thinking a Nissan V6 like a Nissan Z or an Infiniti G.
BUT if I really wanted a Turbo four it all would depend on specs per price and engine quality.
