Since many will look to this thread if having the same question, how did you come to the conclusion? What was your process?
(P.S. usually fairly simple, I fixed my daughters Jetta a few months ago for same issue. Code read, cable was plugged up fine and cleaning the tone ring did not fix it. Install Sensor ($10) and spun the wheel, all good! Test drove to confirm. Hardest part was old sensor was a tight fit due to rust, punched out and sprayed WD-40 and wire brushed to clean up the hole it fit in.)
