Wheels on slammed black Sonic

I have a black LTZ hatch right now. I'm looking to get coils and wheels for Christmas, how do you think these would look?

Those aren't bad, I like the pattern, but not a fan of an off-colored lip around the outside.
I know it probably doesn't mean anything, but please don't "slam" a Sonic... There is no easier way to make it look ricey, stupid, and make people laugh at you then to have your tires rubbin on your fenders...

I like those wheels a lot, I just didn't want to spend the money on them. If I planned on making this a track car saving/losing weight on the wheels would be a higher priorty.

I personally love the "slammed" look. But I think you are going to need more than coils to be truely slammed. Its going to be lower..but not on the ground.

Right but coils will lower it a lot more than stock. Just because a car is lowered doesn't make it ricey lol?

The Sonic's chassis sits pretty high compared to typical cars, which I've noticed in all current subcompacts besides the sonic. Even with coils, it's gonna be hard getting an aggressive low profile; the only thing you could do to rice-out a sonic is slapping an obnoxious spoiler in place of the stock one.

Pretty sure there's other things you could do, but putting some nice enkei rims and coils won't get you laughed at.

Anyone else scrape the front spoiler or whatever u call the rubber piece under the bumper that scrapes on the driveways . That's why I'm scared to lower it, I don't want to scrape my bumper off!

I am lowered and backing out I sometimes scrape the front air dam. No problems with speed bumps but there are certain service stations I enter or exit on an angle.

The one area that concerns me is the concrete parking stops at places like rest stops where on other cars I have lost the front air dam due to parking too close, but the Sonic is so small I do not need to get that close.

As long as you are not overly aggressive (+2") when dropping you'll be ok.

If you're into the five spoke look consider these Borbets. It's overall a much better wheel. Single bolt pattern, spokes continue all the way to the lip and made by a quality manufacturer.

Offered in 16" & 17", as well as fairly inexpensive.

When it comes to cars my philosophy is the lower the better, unless
1)it's a daily driver that meets bumps rough roads frequent pot holes etc which Is prob many places.
2)it's something my wife drives more than once in a blue moon.

Coilovers are nice because some days you just don't want it so low

Lower it! Mine in 2 inches from the ground and scrapes but its rubber

Stock height: scrape every once in a while
B&G Lowering Springs: Go really slowly on speedbumps; some speedbumps/dips I'll have to take sideways.
BC Coilovers: Set to arrive tomorrow so we'll see how that goes. :banana:

No problem.
Yeah, high offset + width of less than 8 usually yields small/weak lips. If you want a decent lip in the near future, you'll probably have to go custom/redrill/adapters/hub conversion/rebarrel.
