Where do you do maintenance after warranty expired

They said the same to me, They wanted to do a tranny flush and an injector cleaning.

I can do both of those myself while following the manuals severe schedule.

That said, I probably voided my "lifetime powertrain warranty" since that said you have to have all service performed at the dealership.

You can do your own maintenance without voiding the warranty if you keep records of the work you do and receipts for the parts installed. In other words, be able to prove the work was done. I get my work done by a local shop & keep the receipts. The only thing that voids a warranty is if they can prove that you did something or installed something that caused the problem. They can't legally require you to have service done in their shop unless they do it for free (as in a warranty repair).

Lifetime power train is not the standard power train warranty, it's an incentive from the dealer I purchased from and seeing how shady they've been with everything else I'm sure they would deny it past the 100k power train warranty for any and all reasons.

Didn't read the entire thread, but as far as like oil changes, etc, our cars usually go to Meineke. At least where I live, semi synthetic oil change only runs 35 bucks give or take. For my focus though, I usually take in my own oil and filter, which is quaker state HM 5w20, and then I can pay extra for tire rotation etc. Basic things like a battery or air filter, or front brakes, might do at home or give my brother in law a little $ to help out with.

If it's a bigger repair though, say the engine would need rebuilt, probably going to shop around.

Oil changes are cheap. I just did oil, transmission, and brake fluid change on my Sonic LT for $65.
