I started with riding at 30 (20 years ago)
1. Yamaha Seca II aircooled standard with half fairing and very cheap suspension. Had it for 2 years.
2. Yamaha FZR400 - small displacement sports bike. First time I touch down a peg. It could go fast without you knowing it or having to work at it.
3. Honda CBR600F2 - (if you don't know what this is, you shouldn't be reading this thread). Incredibly comfortable bike for a sport bike. Fastest I've gone with me at the controls (140 indicated and notoriously optimistic).
4. Kawasaki ZRX1100 - standard, '80s-replica with a big modern motor. Pods, jets, exhaust, and gobs of torque. Wish I hadn't sold it.
5. Suzuki SV650 - the new definition of UJM. '01 round-tube naked. Still have. Flat bar, jets, ZX6R rear shock, RaceTech springs and gold valves. Also restyled rear fender. Really a nice bike now. Had it since '06.
I was to the Motorcycle Show in December in Seattle. Lots of sweet rides to be had this year. I would love a Triumph Street Triple R or Thruxton, or the Ducati HyperStrada. But I'm really hankering to build a cafe bike or bobber (not a chopped bobber but a standard style). I've been thinking about a Ryca kit (built on a Suzuki S40/Savage, 650 thumper) or finding a old aircooled CB, of which there are plenty here in the NW.
Can I just say that I love bikes? Thx.
