Hey guys ive been using these forums for research and it looks like it paid off. I bought a Cyber gray ltz turbo sedan two weeks ago and have been enjoying the awesome gas milage. First tank i drove like a grandpa and got an average of 41.2 by calculating it out( car said 39.3). Just finished my second tank and driving normal with a spirited spert here and there still got 39+. I have a 95 talon TSi fwd as a daily and as much fun as the 333 ( 30 mpg, 305 hp, 352 ft/lb torque) was, it was not reliable, ran on ethonal so only two gas stations to get fuel, and got me into alot of trouble. Since i still have my drag car i oppted for a practical car. Was at the dealer looking at the cruse and was about ready to sign the papers on an eco when i walked past my ltz and relized instead of the stripped down, no spare tire, no sound detening tin can....i could get a fully loaded sonic for the same price. So i sat on it all week went back to test drive the sonic. Got in and there was 2 miles on the odometer, awesome! was happy with the same motor and trans and the interior really wasnt much smaller. and that was it.... 3 hours later i was driving it home.
all around its a balanced car. Great gas milage, just enough power to have a little bit of fun, and where i live there are alot of fun roads and the car is a blast to throw into a corner. It is really hard to get used to not having power to manuver quickly, but atleast this little car can get out of its own way. one thing i dont like is no matter what i do a quick 1 ,2 shift is rough as hell and the car cuts power even with all assist off ( holding the traction control button for 10 seconds). second to third isnt much better, but i guess it keeps me from beating on the car . i will be taking to the track atleast once to see if the claimed 16.0 is possible.
Thanks for the forums and i look forward to reading more on what people are doing to these fun little cars.
