So I'm on the fence about two things. ZZPerformance intake v. K&N intake. also ZZPerformance catback exhaust v. Borla catback exhaust. I'm leaning heavily towards the Borla kit because Chevy offers it and can install without voiding any warranties, my judgment can be swayed. But with the intake kits what is better. I'm not concerned with price. I'm more concerned with power and weight. Anyone know how much a ZZPerformance intake weighs?

Borla warrants the Borla exhaust, replacing the factory cat back voids the cat back exhaust warranty because you have to cut it to get it off. Don't think just because GM sells a Borla cat back as an accessory that they will treat it like it belongs to them. Weight between intakes is so minuscule that you're looking for weight savings in the wrong places and if you want the lightest intake the thin walled aluminum DDM intake with no heat shield is going to get you the lightest intake.

I have a Borla/K&N setup myself. Love it! No flaws IMO
When it came to Cobalts, ZZP openly admitted the K&N SRI made more HP than their intake. The price was significantly more for the K&N but if your into paying an extra $100 for 2-3 HP gain, that's up to you. Personally I love K&N SRI's... Would like one for the Sonic eventually but not until they come down in price and more companies start offering it.
As for catback, I've heard Laborsmiths DDM Catback as well as the ZZP and think the DDM sounds better. But I will eventually end up with the ZZP due to price and the fact their shop is 15 min down the road from me. The ZZP sounds good, it's just quiet.
This of course is my opinion and what I look for. I think any of the big 3 intakes and catbacks available you will be happy with though.

Have to ask a question. Typically intakes provide air the cooler the better. The factory box pulls air from outside the engine bay. Cannot understand how the aftermarket intakes can provide better air than a drop in K&N. please enlighten me. BTW I have installed K&N FIPK systems on every one of my cars/Trucks since the 80's. not sure I will do this one.
