Ok folks, I got my car today!

I got the CU discount and felt pretty good about that. In that deal, some of the dealer add-on costs are waved in addition to preferred pricing. The salesman will also wave the cost of having the service department computer-enable the fog lights that I'll add them after-market.

First impressions: A little noisier than I remembered from my test drives on other examples. I can hear wind whipping over the rear hatch. Didn't remember that before. But then in my mind I may have been confusing the Cruze Eco's quiet interior with the Sonic. But so glad to have the car after all these months. The infotainment system is awesome. I called people using the BT and the display said their names. Very fun.

Attached photo is of my salesman Harold. He's the one I bought my Cobalt from years back. He knows his stuff. Anyway, couldn't be happier!!!

It's a 1LT with connectivity 1.4L Turbo Hatch. Arrived from a Minnesota dealer with 8 miles on it. My dealer had to trade a Equinox from Great Bend, KS for the Sonic, as I got tired of waiting for the order I placed in November to come through. Eventually it will, and there will be an identical car here in Kansas if someone is looking for the 1.4. I can fix you up with my sales guy!

I've seen others mention de-badging, but I LOVE the badges. Hey, I'm proud to be in my Chevy and want people to know what model it is. It's kind of a perfect combination of cars I've recently had. It resembles the Honda '92 hatch, and the red Cobalt I had. It's like they were morphed into one. (With all the good features + a whole lot more.) I love the stock wheels and will appreciate the cost of tire replacement when I don't have to get exotic low profile tires. As far as mods/additions, I'm going to see my tint guy and the UltraGuage is on the way. I'll put the fogs on myself and look into the rubber mats after I get used to having a car payment again Tomorrow it gets its first run from Topeka to Kansas City. Tooling around town and it's over 30mpg in 60 miles. Lookin' good!

My '92 Honda had one airbag, so yep, more like NINE more airbags. And how does someone know if a 20-year-old first-gen airbag even wants to deploy anymore?

You could always set it off if you're feeling adventurous. 1st gen Miata owners regularly set off their airbags for ****s and grins. I've never heard of one that didn't blow up when shorted.

Ok, here is a funny to share. Got gas last night. Wanted to reset the trip odometer for the first time. Punched through the stalk menu, couldn't find the reset. Where was that setting!!! Got out the iPad and thumbed through the Sonic .pdf manual. (I hear snickering)

Those of you who already know, that even with our cool, futuristic dash board, that the black button on the tachometer resets it..... Just like dashboards have had for 50 years. Oh well
