8" or 10" sub box

im looking to put subs in my sonic hatch. Deos anyone know what dual 8" or 10" box that will fit? i havent taken measurements or anything but i know they dont have the most amount of space. I would prefer a dual 10" ported box but i really dont car. feel free to include links. and also what do i need to put in after marked speakers in the front. 6.5" speakers. do i need any adapters?

You can do anything really. Just depends on your pocket. Ported boxes typically are larger. Ive heard 2 8s in a ported box hit lows like 15s. Granted they were $400 subs. The cubic feet reccommended for 8s would probably be lower though. So smaller box.

As far as the speakers go, i dont believe they have made a speaker harness for them yet. You can cut off the harness or splice, tap and solder like the rest of us. Ive fit the speakers in the car with no brackets easily.

Sorry i didnt quite answer the question. There are mannyy prefab boxes out there you can buy. The best way to do a system is to have a box built specificly for your set up. Once you decide on the subs you want, take it to a shop and have them mock up a box depending on the reccommended cubic feet, trunk space, tuning frequency,etc. that will give you way better sound than any prefab box would and they can build it specificly for your car.

As mentioned...my suggestion...figure out the subs you want first...go by the specs for the sub for the box. Personally I have always liked 10's. I've owned 10's and 12's. I've heard many systems with an assortment of sizes. Only a few with 8's and they're nice, but for me, they just don't go low enough unless you're spending big bucks on them.

I'm hoping to build a setup with either a single or a pair of Memphis Reference 10's...they're low profile so I'll be building a box for the sub floor to keep them hidden so I will still have full use of the hatch. Or rather I'll be having the box built for me.

What kind of head unit?? aftermarket you do not I need splicing just run it off the subwoofer output to an amp and connect your battery remote on. As far as bass boxes the ported channeled is rhe best you can run 1 and it wiuld sound better than 2. I recently missed out on the bass enclosure drawing so I have to wipe the cobwebs off my old plans and modify a box to fit. Im working with 8 inchs and 10s. 12 are somewhat over kills. Just make sure all is compatible

it is a Kenwood head unit. i really want to do 2 alpine type r 10's and a ported box. and like 1800 watts but i would have to wait for ever to do that.

If you want to save money I would look into the Alpine type S subs. They took over in our store and replaced the r's. 600 rms. They are very loud. I actually like them more. We did 2 in a custom ported box and it was louuudd. You can put 1 alpine mrp-m500 on each sub. Its the best "cheapest" system ive ever heard. It under powers the subs a little but the ported box helps even it out.

I just took out 2 ten inch Alpine shadow boxes s series. They sound perfect. I replaced them with 1 12inch l5 kicker. But thats kind of big. I might go back to the alpines

Im tellin ya. The new type s subs are more powerful than the old type rs at half the price. Cant go wrong.

ok. i had a 12" type r in my old car on 500w. and that isnt enough so i will probably so 2 type s 10's and a kenwood 1800w amp.

Idk if id do a ported box that small. Go by the specs of the subs but. I dont think with that little of airspace a ported box would sound good.
