Not bad for two 12's in a sealed box. Going to get two more and see if I can blow the hatch off the back.

Distortion is purely due to the made in china microphone thats on my phone. Sounds clean in person. I still need to dynamat and due a couple minor tweaks to get some better performance. So far so good.

Who else has beat in their Sonics? I want to see some systems.

Just be careful with your ears. That stuff will do a lot of damage in a short period of time. More than you know. I like big systems too though, but I kinda switched from wanting bass to wanting sound quality. And I don't have the money to pay for big bass anymore, haha.

I never was into that much bass, I have always loved SQ...but I have a friend who's been doing installation for a living since high school (over 12 years now)...and the shop he works for does some of the most amazing work...they have quite a few shop cars that have all kinds of work done....back in high school we used to take his old early 80's Chevy pickup which was his truck at the time, but was used for the shop as a demo vehicle...had an all Memphis setup...over 15,000 watts...can't remember how many amps and subs, but at least 10 or 12 of each...whole bed was fiberglassed.

We took it to Denny's one morning after junior league (bowling) and he went out while we were eating and turned it on about half volume...all the damn windows in the place were vibrating. Fun times back then.

I'm a fan of Steve Meade as well (I'm sure some of you know who he is)...the stuff that is done is just amazing and sick, but I could never do that myself...just not into that much bass.

I like 1 good 10". I just got rid of my Boston G5...turned down to about 1/2-2/3 power it had amazing SQ, but crank it up and it just got ridiculously loud. My old W3v2 was probably the best SQ sub I've owned...had a W6v2 that was loud, but I didn't care for the SQ that much (might have been the box it was in).

I'm looking to get a new setup soon...just something small (200 watts max)...need more than the little MTX Thunderlink POS I have in my Cobalt now. With the factory stereo that worked, but with the Pioneer unit and Boston speakers, it just sounds horrible.

I dont have anything in my sonic yet but i did have a very nice system in my previous car before i traded it in for my sonic. I had Two 12" Polk Audio Subwoofers in the Trunk, A Set of Sony Xplod 6x9's in the rear deck behind the back seats, set of Sony Xplod 4x6 Speakers in the front doors, and a set of 400w Piezo Tweeters in the door pillars. That thing not only sounded good but was VERY loud. I cant remember how many times i lost my rear view mirror because it would vibrate right off lol. Included a picture below of the Subwoofers. I still have the black one. Sold the silver one in the wood box and kept the carpted box. I miss having bass. Once summer rolls around i plan on dropping the black polk into the Sonic. Prob wont have to turn it up much in the sonic. not much space to fill lol.

Here is what im putting into my sonic this summer. Im going to put in from my previous car the 12" Polk Audio Subwoofer i had in the Custom box made for this subwoofer powered by a Profile California AP600 Amp. Had 2 of them in my previous car but i sold one because i needed the money at the time. myself im just going to have it wired into the stock head unit as i want to add bass but keep the stock unit for the sake of vehicle controls you would loose if you put in an aftermarket headunit. Plus im not looking to blow windows out, just have some depth to my music again. Eventually i will have the stock speakers changed too. all in due time...

I actually have a song that can blow your rear window out if you play it on those subs haha. Playing it on the stock sound system at just 30 with 0 bass is already hard banging.

When I had the 2 Polks together running in my old car I kept loosing the rear view mirror as it would constantly vibrate off. and I cant remember how many side view mirrors i had to replace because they would crack from the bass lol. oops. oh well. It was fun back then. Now im just looking to add some depth to my music. eventually i will downgrade the 12" Polk and get an 8" Polk, maybe 2 of them and run them off the stock head unit. Im more of the quality sound now than just straight bass like i was with my old car. All part of growing up lol. The 2 Polks was when i was in school and shortly after. Now i dont need all that bass. Just enough to add depth to the music.

A few pics of my install! Stock head unit. Pioneer TS-D1702R in the rear and TS-1602R in the front. Factory tweeters in front. Infinity Kappa 5 amp. AudioControl LC-6i and 2 Pioneer Champion Pro 10" subs at 2 ohm. Its crystal clear and will shake the front windshield depending on the music!
