Actually, it's not an issue. The centering rings go in the wheels. If they stay on the hub when you remove the wheel, you should always remove them and put them back in the wheel before reinstalling the wheel.
I've had several cars with spacers and wheels that had centering rings.
Makes sense. I've never actually used them before. Glad it's not an issue because I'll probably want to use some spacers when I get my wheels.
No worries, there's a first time for everything. Consider your spacer cherry popped with care.

It's possible that with the spacers, the hub-centric rings that go on the aftermarket rims will be useless. You would be spacing out the the hub on your rotor so that you effectively have no center hub. Your rims would only be lug centric at this point. A very slight chance that you may get a little bit of wobble when at highway speeds.
