I have for sale (now), ONE pre-made additional power outlet for a 2012-2013 Sonic!
We all complain about how we could use another power outlet, in addition to that one on the console. I agree. After reading such a great DIY article from
http://www.sonicownersforum.com/forum/t1087/...(he did a GREAT job on his DIY - Thank you!! I got into it. My steps are simpler to install this part. The first time you do it MAY take you 10 mins, the second time, half that.
I have taken the RH cubby from a brand NEW 2013 Sonic LTZ and pre added a new, addition 12V power outlet. ALL you have to do is wire a hot (fused) wire to the center blade and of cours ground to the outside case. I do NOT to tap in with scotch loks, so I went to my fuse panel inside the car and used the pre-fused sunroof fuse, came straght across to my new outlet. VERY simple.
Anyway, to install this premade unit:
1) Remove center trim piece around radio.
2) Pull straight out on the little black plastic triangles at the bottom of both cubbies. 3 small clips hold them in
3) Locate and unscrew the 2 - 7mm bolts on the inside of the RH cubby (only) you are going to remove. Pull the cubby out as is only then held in by small plastic clips. Reverse to install. Simple..That's it..
Hook up your negative and positive (insulated) leads to my unit and reinstall. Very simple. You will love the extra 12V socket, especially recessed in the cubby! Looks factory!
Facts: New cubby costs $26.53.. my cost was $21.05.. NEW GM PART ,Power outlet was $10.95 (quality unit) I will do for $40.00 total, including ALL I describe here.. PLUS FREE Ground shipping to your door!! You won't beat that!! Lower 48 only. Guaranteed to work and is a quality job. I don't do junk and do not want any. PAYPAL only. BUYER accepts ALL fees.
If you have any questions, please ask first. NO REFUNDS or warranty implied or suggested and you buy at your own risk ... Sounds harsh but the legal HAS to be out there!
I think you will really enjoy this... Great option!!! I only have 1 now, this one..
May consider in the future to have you mail me YOUR part for install and return to ready as this one. Would be a little cheaper as I would need the new GM cubby...., but I found most wish to retain their factory stock part as a "backup". Can only do these prices until my prices increase to me by my vendors, but am not seeing that. Am doing this, not a money making plan... just a hobby and help friends out! Please,, if nothing else,, give me some feedback! I appreciate it!!
Thanks!!
