Just got a email from them


They make a short ram intake for the sonic turbo and a fmic with aluminum piping

I will try and get some pictures and prices from them
They told me it is a bolt on kit

Honestly they use sh!t Chinese cores and their IC is likely no better than the stock unit.

They have an EVO IC and when tested the thing heatsoaked like an SOB.

IC piping is IC Piping so you won't go wrong there.


But all IC cores are not created equal

I use a Silicone Intakes core on my Saab, and it does pretty damn good. Its wayyy to big for the Sonic, but they are affordable and the quality isn't too bad.

I was thinking about getting a smaller version of that for the Sonic at some point.

I also used their universal pipe kit, then Pat cut, welded, and fitted everything.

I think the DDM's tubes resist more heat and expand less than the factory hoses. Where y'all are wanting to go though, aluminum is probably the only way to go.

Yeah, I will get there at some point. My transmission has been giving me trouble this week because of the cold. So I need to get that fixed ASAP.

Just crossed 2400 miles. When its really cold I can barely get it in gear. I tried RedLine and the DDM bushings. No help at all. Once its warm its fine, but its near impossible to drive on a cold start.

That sounds stressful. Unfortunately, I still haven't driven mine in anything other than 60+ temps. I think when I get back home I might see some cool driving for a week or two. Hope you get it sorted.

Just crossed 2400 miles. When its really cold I can barely get it in gear. I tried RedLine and the DDM bushings. No help at all. Once its warm its fine, but its near impossible to drive on a cold start.

Let us know what they find. At 0 degrees it is almost impossible to get my trans into second gear, I'm talking 3-6 sec shifts pulling firmly on the shifter before it drops in. Also get a very small grind in most gears, reminds me of a John Deere 4020 when it does it.

I believe laborsmith said a while back that the tranny looked like the weak point in the system. Looks like his comment is coming to life. After reading the gear ratios for this car, its no wonder why people have problems getting into second gear.
