I'm not necessarily new to the forum. I joined back in September 2012 maybe and I've only posted a few times. Just a disclaimer: if this is in the wrong thread then by all means move it to the correct place. I'm not sure if I really intend on this being a build thread or just a topic of discussion.
I got my Silver Ice Metallic 1.8L auto Sonic LT back in June 2012 and I love it. It's my first car and I'm paying for it myself so it's a big deal to me.
I'm new to the whole modding craze and I don't know much about how engines work and so forth. With that being said, I've learned a lot about my sonic and cars in general from reading on this forum and I'd like to thank you all for that.
I'm just posting to establish myself as the dominant, alpha male. haha jk :banana:
Seriously, I'm just asking for advice. Whatever any of you have to offer, I'm grateful for it. I've read tons of posts about tunes, intakes, exhaust systems. I'm starting to figure it out.
My current changes I've made to "Mecha Sonic" (remember him from sonic the hedgehog? of course you do):
K&N drop in air filter
Ultragauge
Window tint 5% strip/35%/20%
What I would like to do based on what I've learned from this forum:
Trifecta Tune
CAI or Short Ram Air Intake (not sure here)
Maybe some body mods like a spoiler
My goals are simple. I'd love to get the most out of this vehicle, but my major goal is to increase the mileage. My lifetime mileage is right around 27 mpg, which I can't really complain about. But I know I can do better with a tune and better intake. So here are my 2 questions. Which should come first/will make the biggest difference in mpg? Tune or intake? My second question is completely unrelated. How do you make a signature at the bottom of your posts and how do you get the fuelly thing to be added to it?
