Resonators

I removed my muffler and it is still not loud enough for me with the stock resonator.

Without the resonator and muffler it is too loud.

Im looking for a resonator that is right in the middle as far as loudness goes.

Something that isnt too much money.

Any ideas?

take the res off and put on a high flow, magnaflow racing turbo muffler. it's about the least restrictive available.

Turbo muffler is more restrictive than a straight through design. Get a new resonator, and if it is still too quiet, then get the downpipe.

Turbo mufflers aren't much more restricted than a straight through style muffler like a Magnaflow...... It's just an extended straight through internal "S" style of muffler that gives you a little more sound reduction.

when i said a 'turbo muffler' i didnt mean the style 'turbo'...i meant a muffler designed for turbocharged cars. magnaflow does a specific 'turbo application' muffler series. it's pretty much a pipe with a few holes drilled in it...and then wrapped in a muffler shell, no stuffing, no baffling, just a pipe basically

Steve, your system is straight 2.5 from the turbo back to the ZZP muffler correct? What style is the ZZP muffler? Baffled? I like the way yours sounds. Just trying to figure out what to do with mine. I could go straight back to my SLP muffler and I think that would be very similar.

Yep, turbo back with the zzp muffler. Which it looks to me, as having two 12 in straight through muffler portions, making it overall a 24in straight through. I have been contemplating doing a 14in resonator instead, or a electic cutoff, just in case I want full tractor!
